As a Yank who has lived in Britain for nigh on fifteen years I have a curious and special perspective on the news that London has been named as having the best public transport for the second year running. When I first moved here I thought it was brilliant but I now know that it is basically rubbish/

I haven't been to the Netherlands or Japan, but I have been to Paris a few times, and, frankly, compared to the Tube, the Paris Metro is crap. Hard to use, hard to figure out, hard to read the map (even allowing for French).
ReplyDeleteWhat I think is, after having lived in England for 15 years, you've absorbed the English mentality of rubbishing everything English just to make yourself feel happy by being miserable!
I'm sure I'll get there in another 11 years myself.
