It's that time of year again. The Ignobel Prizes were awarded yesterday and there's something for everyone: research on the harmful effects of sword swallowing, hamsters on Viagra, vanilla extract from cow dung and, my personal favourite, a study of the word "the" and it's negative effects on alphabetical lists.
