Will they stand up for their beliefs?

The other evening it just popped into my head, these things happen with alarming regularity, that those folks who believe that the spaceship Earth is only about 6,000 years old can't possibly believe in fossil fuels as it takes millions and millions of years to turn plants into coal, natural gas or petroleum. Since somewhere between 25% and 40% of Americans believe this very thing I think that I have found an easy and painless way for America to dramatically reduce its carbon footprint. We simply challenged these 75 to 120 million people to put their petrol where their Bible is and stop using anything made from or with fossil fuels! Obviously this means the end of the family car or truck; the end of central heating; the end of electricity consumption*; the elimination of all petroleum based plastics from their lives; the end of eating foods (meat and vegetables) produced with fossil fuels; etc.

Obviously they will once again have to become either substanence farmers or hunter/gatherers but for the glory of God AND the good of the planet I don't think it is too much to ask. So for any of you living in America I suggest that you hang out outside of your local church tomorrow and share this good news with the congregation as they leave.
