Jab time

Thanks to the furore over a disproved relationship between the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism stirred up by Dr Andrew Wakefield with the cooperation of the largely tabloid press the rate of vaccinations of young children in Britain declined considerably. We should not be surprised then to find out that there is a sudden surge in measles cases and the health authorities are having to, once again, urge parents to ensure that their children receive the MMR vaccine.
