Foreign Policy Magazine has released its Failed States Index for 2007 and the good news is that Iraq isn't last. The bad news is that Iraq is second last "losing" out only to noted success story the Sudan. Iraq received perfect marks (10 out of 10) for instability in the Group Grievance, Security Apparatus and External Intervention categories. I reckon we should be thankful that Afghanistan only came out eighth worst, four whole positions ahead of Pakistan.
