Curiously the dangerous and unabashedly leftist NY Times fails to mention the decline of American influence in it's headline preferring to highlight the waning appeal of al Qaeda instead and it's equally treasonous liberal counterpart the Washington Post decided to focus on nuclear proliferation and scarce natural resources. Why do they hate America so?

Now this is interesting

In today's Independent the eminent Middle East reporter Robert Fisk reports that the Iraqi police believed that Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal was in the employ of the American "intelligence" services shortly before the illegal invasion of Iraq in yet another failed attempt to build a link between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda.

In which I explain why I am not proud to be an American

Because it is now becoming clear that, with absolute certainty, both the US military and the US "intelligence" community have engaged in systematic, intentional and highly managed horrific abuse of prisoners and detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan, Cuba and places unnamed. We have finally lost any remaining moral authority we may have had. These are crimes against humanity and someone, hopefully several someones, high up needs to pay and pay dearly.

There are plans afoot to put the US "Intelligence" community on a pay for performance basis. If we can back date this I reckon that Ahmed Chalabi, amongst many others, owes us a great big refund cheque!

Everything's political

By now we all know about the Pentagon report that has conclusively demonstrated that there were no, I repeat NO, link between Saddam Hussein's government and al Qaeda. Now it seems that US Department of Defence has decided that the American people have no right to see it and will try to prevent its release. There couldn't have been any pressure from the White House, could there?

Inconvienent intelligence

Since it is obvious that Captain Codpiece and his evil minions have no intention of listening to any intelligence that disagrees with their preconceived notions couldn't the US save a really incredible amount of money and simple not bother to have any intelligence agencies? In place of the output from these hugely expensive and clearly worthless agencies Bush's lackies could just make it up. It's not as if they haven't being do that all along anyway.
