First - if the Bible is literally true you should note that an orca is not an ox.
Second - how will the stoning be executed? I know you're not all that big on science you surely you will have noticed that stones slow down considerably once they hit the water. Will you have to remove the orca from its natural habitat to make you weaponry more effective? Is this fair?
Lastly - as this is a second offense the owner must die as well. Will you simply stone the chairperson of Seaworld or must all the shareholders die as well? Will executions be simultaneous or will they occur on separate occasions in order to increase attendance?

Once again the scientists get it wrong
It turns out that dinosaurs are some 10,000,000 years older than previously thought.
Of course this finding does not apply in the Great State of Texas for obvious reasons.

Meanwhile on this side of the Great Water...
...those dangerous and evil lefties at the Guardian have hired some real scientists to write about real science once a week or so. Now surely that can't a good idea, can it?
I can hardly wait for Mad Mel to weigh in.

Well this should resolve the Newton v Leibniz controversy once and for all!
An obscure prayer book auctioned off in London ten years ago would seem to indicate that Archimedes had discovered the core tenets of the Calculus over 2000 years ago. This news would have been discovered sooner if some medieval monk hadn't rubbed out most of the maths and scribbled prayers over it. It is not yet known whether said monk was indeed an ancestor of former American president George W. Bush.
Surely this must be covered by Intelligent Design!
These evolving sing robots developed by a researcher at Britain's University of Plymouth are just too cool!

Well what did we expect from a woman who thinks the planet is 6,000 years old??
Over on the Guardian website today Adam Rutherford, from Nature, explains to us why Ramb-ette's injudicious comments about research into Drosophila melanogaster, or more specifically Bactrocera oleae, has made her a laughing stock amongst scientists along with most folks who have a reasonably adequate education.

Why does the Pope hate Jesus?
It appears that the Roman Catholic Church, with the full approval of Il Papa, is coming down firmly on the side of science and evolution and not on the side of "useless" creationism. Whatever with the wing nuts say about this?

Not with a bang but a whimper
The good (and incredibly bright) folks at CERN have already managed to get a beam of protons all the way around the Large Hadron Collider and the world has not ended. The end of the world is now scheduled for sometime shortly after Captain Codpiece bombs Iran in early January.

The end of the world
There's only seven days left before the Large Hadron Collider at CERN destroys the world as we know but the good folks at Reason Magazine say that we have nothing to worry about.
I'm still worried....

Eight days to oblivion!
On 10 September the Large Hadron Collider at le Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire is due to fire up and send beams of particles smashing into each other at nearly the speed of light in the hope of recreating conditions in the universe just after the Big Bang and also of finding the Higgs Boson. If Stephen Hawking is right these collisions will create miniature black holes and if he is only half right these mini-holes will not decay immediately and the universe as we know will be over. Fortunately there are some brave people out there who are will to do almost anything, include going to the courts, to see that this doesn't happen. The bad news is that if they will I'm going to have to pay back that overdraft.

Bloody hell, now he's gone and done it!
Apparently former governor of Virginia Mark Warner mentioned science in his speech. Just when we had managed to drown out the claims of elitism. There goes the votes of middle America!

Bobby's big week
One of the rumoured candidates to be The Ancient One's running mate, the Governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal, must really want that right wing support bad given how hard he has worked for it this week. First he signed into law a bill that essentially introduces Shari'a law for sex crimes, (how long until they start cutting off hands for robbery?), and now he has signed a law that should ensure that an entire generation of Louisiana school children is unqualified to work or study in the life sciences. What will he do next?

Today in infamy - "thank God this could never happen today" edition
On this day in 1633 Galileo Galilei was sentenced by a Shari'a Roman Catholic court for having the temerity to believe the truth. Fortunately, 475 years later, America is a country ruled by reason where nothing of this sort of ever happen again!

Cool! (Pun possibly intended)
This is what space exploration is all about. The Phoenix probe has found what is believed to be ice on Mars.

Today in panspermia
Scientists at Imperial College - London have uncovered evidence that the precursors of genetic material probably came to Earth from outer space on meteorites. I checked the Book of Genesis and I think this must have happened on day two.

Paging Maxwell Smart
Scientists from Imperial College London think they may have discovered the cone, or at least the cloak, of silence.
I have no words to describe this so I'm afraid....
...that you'll just have to mosey on over to the wacko website of Alan Keyes's Renew America and read it. Let's just say in this scintillating "issues analysis" one Fred Hutchison quite brilliantly and practically effortlessly disproves the Theories of Relativity without a single equation although some might think it cheating that Mr. Hutchison listens to the voices in his head.
What they did next
Now that some Swedish scientists have discovered that the brains of gay men and straight women share a number of physical characteristics, as do the brains of straight men and gay women, expect the Christian right to embark on a "crusade" to explain to us just exactly how gay men choose to alter the shape of their brains.
