A memo to Ramb-ette

Dear Governor Ramb-ette,

I do think that it might behove you to get your dictionary out, there must be one in the Governor's office somewhere, and investigate the meaning of the word "vindicate".

It is likely that you will find the result your minmal effort enlightening.

That is all.

Kind regards

Yank in London

Dear Senator McCain

Now that the Alaskan investigation into the (missing) ethics of your running mate Sarah "Ramb-ette" Palin has concluded that she violated Alaskan law and I can only assume that you will respond to my previous challenge by doing the honest thing and resigning from your candidacy; right?
And don't even think about point to your own "in depth" and undoubtedly unbiased investigation into the matter. None of us, including you I presume, actually take that seriously!

No sex for oil!

Bush administration officials tasked with collecting billions of dollars from oil giants in royalty fees found that sex and drugs made their job more enjoyable; no word on rock and roll.

I am certain that the oil companies involved will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law; or not as the case may be.

A challenge for John McCain and the lovely Ramb-ette

It is patently obvious that the team of mavericks and outsiders that are trying to make you President are doing everything in their power to ensure that the ethics investigation into the behaviour of Ms. Palin cannot be completed before the election. I promise not to whinge about this unseemly behaviour if you promise that, should the completion of the investigation be delayed beyond the election date and you win, both you and Ms. Palin will resign immediately, even if you have not yet taken office, if she is found to have abused the office of Governor of (the great state of) Alaska. Deal?

I'm sure that the punishment will be severe (right?)

Boeing Corporation is once again facing charges of defrauding America's taxpayers in it's ever so friendly dealings with the Pentagon. Of course this tiny and insignificant matter cannot be allowed to stand in the way of their having another shot at that refueling plane contract.

I hope you didn't miss this

Albert Stanley, appointed to run KBR by none other than current US Vice President (and non-hockey mom) "I'm a Big" Dick Cheney whilst Cheney was running Halliburton, has pleaded guilty to paying millions in bribes to win contracts for KBR. Fortunately, with influential friends in the White House the bribes are no longer necessary and the contracts just keep pouring in!

Sorry Ted

Efforts by slimy Republi-con Senator Ted Stevens has lost out in his attempt to have his corruption trial moved from Washington to Alaska after a federal judge ruled that such a move would cause unnecessary "delay and additional expense". Reports that Senator Stevens suggested that if the expense was a problem he has some friends that would be willing to chip in some dosh cannot be confirmed at this time.

BREAKING NEWS

Alaska's King of Pork, Senator Ted Stevens, is a slimy little weasel!

Oh, you knew that already. Well never mind then.

31 July 2008

Today in Schadenfreude

The uncrowned King of Pork and Earmarks, Alaska's Senator Ted Stevens, is finally indicted seven counts of being Ted Stevens.

Log Cabin Republicans need not apply

Under the brutally efficient regime of Monica Goodling at the US Department of (In)Justice not only did one have to be loyal, rabid, right wing Republican to get or keep a job one had to be straight too! I'll bet that we eventually find out that one had to be right handed as well.

Bush adminstration accuses itself of breaking the law...

...and for some reason the American broadcast media failed to notice. I imagine they're waiting for the indictments that will never come.

1,000 reasons John McCain shouldn't be President

Number 56: if elected he is going to develop a drinking problem. Isn't it about time someone asked The Aged One what he is going to do about his wife's business interests should he be elected? Clearly she cannot remain in charge; actively or inactively.

Your tax dollars (hardly) at work

A former senior auditor for the US Army in Iraq is contending that he was sacked after refusing to pay over $1 billion ($1,000,000,000) in questionable charges to KBR. The army contends that failing to pay in the invoices would have led to a deterioration in services to the troops even below the abysmal level that KBR was already supplying!

Your tax dollars at work

That institution most beloved by American neo-cons, the British Broadcasting Corporation, has investigated the huge scale fraud and waste that is American "aid" to Iraq and found 23 billion USD "missing". Unfortunately if your American your government won't let you know this as most of the fraud and incompetence is covered by gag orders obtained by the Pentagon.

A question for both all five Presidential candidates

Are you going to ensure that the Pentagon audit office is fully funded so that it may carry out its charter? If not, why not? Please financially justify your response. (Hint: I guarantee that any additional funding will more than pay for itself!)

The sound of one shoe dropping

Scott Bloch is the man Captain Codpiece put in charge of the Office of Special Counsel, the organisation chiefly responsible for protecting Federal whistle blowers and ensuring that political activities are not carried out in government offices, a violation of the Hatch Act. He is also the man whose offices were raided yesterday by the FBI who are working on behalf of a Federal grand jury investigating his conduct in office including political bias and obstruction of justice.

Once again the Captain Codpiece team prove themselves to be frighteningly consistent.

Just how incompent and corrupt do you have to be...

...to get sacked by Captain Codpiece for incompetence and corruption? At least as incompetent and corrupt as (former) head of the GSA Lurita Doan. Somehow I think there must be something else that we don't, as yet, know because, as the record of the administration of George W. Bush clearly demonstrates, mere incompetence, corruption and illegality has never been reason enough before!

Yearning for the old west?

When the range was free, the men were men and the sheriff ran a white slavery operation out of the jail. Well yearn no more!

(For the record: Sheriff Burgess appears to be a Democrat.)
