Did someone forget to tell US Congressman Jon Porter (R - NV) that the war in Iraq isn't, never has been and never will be about oil? I would think so he has come out and said out loud that a US withdrawal from Iraq will raise the price of petrol to 9 USD per US gallon. I few comments:
- He is an idiot as he claims "he was told" this. I suspect that his source is Ahmed, the barman at the Green Zone Four Seasons, who also gave him a tip for the 2:21 at Santa Anita.
- 9 USD per US gallon isn't out of the realm of possibility in the rest of the world. The current UK price of 95p a litre is rougly 7 USD per US gallon.
