All God's creatures

Southern California sees far too many people living in an extremely arid, near desert region. This population requires huge amounts of water to keep back yards and golf courses green and fill backyard swimming pools in addition to more mundane and necessary uses such as cooking, drinking and sanitation. A Federal judge ruled on Friday that the amount of water taken from the Sacramento-San Joaquin bay delta must be reduced by about a third in order to protect an endangered fish.

Cue the outrage over the "rights" of people living hundreds of miles away from this water source.
