But where will they put Las Ramblas?

Croydon is one of London's boroughs, on the far south of the city and adjoining Surrey. In the sixties it was rebuilt after significant damage from the war and it had delusions it was the "New Manhattan" for reasons that have never been entirely clear. What we ended up with was extraordinarily ugly.

Now someone on the council has decided it is time to undo all of that and this time they have delusions that they will be the New Barcelona.

Perhaps someone should point out to them that not only is Croydon not elegantly perched on the shores of the Mediterranean it is not perched on the shores of anything!
