A Kentucky legislative committee, embarrassingly chaired by a Democrat, held hearings yesterday in which they "learned" that "global warming is a myth concocted by former Vice President Al Gore, the United Nations, Hollywood and the news media". The committee did not hear from any scientists and intentionally did not invite anyone who disagreed with their rather interesting position. The did hear from James Taylor who is a fellow with the ExxonMobil funded Heartland Institute and Lord Christopher Monckton, the 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, who was an adviser to Margaret Thatcher and who is best remembered for arguing that people with HIV/AIDS should be incarcerated for life.
