For some unknown reason the US State Department is having a difficult time finding staff willing to work in the brand spanking new half a billion USD embassy in Baghdad. Now the US Ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker, has made it known he expects State Department staff to value the good of the nation above their personal safety. I agree with him and think that we should expect this of all of our public servants.
In an effort to prove this to be true and as a gesture of their faith in the New Iraq I believe that the following public servants should immediately relocate to the Green Zone and remain there until the end of their terms or the end of their lives, whichever comes first:
In an effort to prove this to be true and as a gesture of their faith in the New Iraq I believe that the following public servants should immediately relocate to the Green Zone and remain there until the end of their terms or the end of their lives, whichever comes first:
- President George W. Bush (aka Captain Codpiece) and all members of the First Family not including household pets
- Vice President "I'm a Big" Dick Cheney and all heterosexual members of the Second Family
- Increasing irrelevant Secretary of State Conocoleezza Rice
- Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
- Secretary of Homeland Security Michael "The Scream" Chertoff
- Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte
- Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns
- Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman
- Congressman Duncan Hunter (we needn't wait until he is wounded before we send him)
In addition the following "journalists" and pundits are to be embedded in the Baghdad White House until inauguration day 2009. (Just think of the unprecedented access they with have!)
- Bill O'Reilly
- Bill Kristol
- Ann Coulter
- Rush Limbaugh and family
- Bob Novak
- Peggy Noonan
- Lou Dobbs
- Michael Reagan
- David Horowitz
- George Will
- Brit Hume
- Glenn Beck
- Sean Hannity
I hope they all have a lovely fourteen months!
UPDATED to add Congressman Hunter.
