Well we can't have that, can we?

The London Oratory School has dropped the Terrence Higgins Trust, an HIV charity, as the beneficiary for its World Aids Day concert because the Catholic run school now believes that the charity's "aims and practices conflicted with the teachings and viewpoint of the Catholic church". According to the organisation's website its mission and aims are as follows:

Our mission

  • Encourage people to value their sexual health, thereby minimising the spread of HIV and sexually transmitted infections, and reducing unintended pregnancies.
  • Drive for the best possible treatment and support services for everyone living with HIV in the UK.
  • Lead innovation and increase access in local sexual health services so that they are available in ways that best meet the needs of the people using them.
  • Lobby for public and political support for HIV and sexual health issues, and campaign to eradicate stigma and discrimination.

Our values

  • Ambitious: We believe communities and individuals can change their own lives. We push ourselves and others to make this happen.
  • Honest: We are accountable to our communities, donors and funders. We work with integrity, transparency and efficiency. We communicate clearly and responsibly.
  • Different: We support, respect and value each other and work without prejudice. We are radical professionals, proud of our diversity, and united by a common cause.
  • Independent: We are an independent charity, rooted in the communities we serve. We use our insight to innovate and inspire change in policies, services and minds.
That doesn't sound so controversial to me but then I'm not Il Papa. They must have said something positive about condoms once.

Come on dearie! The Terrence Higgins Trust is named after a dead rent-boy. It's a gay rights pressure group masquerading as an AIDS charity. Nothing more, nothing less! If they wanted to cut down on the number of perverts dying of AIDS their main goal would be to get them to change their sexual behaviour. But they won't, so they don't.

Terry Higgins was a dear friend and was anything but a Rent Boy as you put it - He was a Hansard reporter at the House of Commons - was in a long term relationship and far from promiscuous.
If you want to vent your homophobia fine - but get your facts straight sir.
