1,000 reasons* John McCain shouldn't be President

Number 17: Yes, Cindy McCain has the right to claim that she has a right to privacy and that therefore she is entitled to withhold from the American public critical information about her wealth and income, forever. However she cannot simply repetitively claim that "I am not the candidate" and get away with it. The American electorate has a legitimate and urgent interest in how her (extreme) wealth and her (undoubtedly considerable) income will affect her husband's political and policy decisions in the future and how they may have influenced them in the past. The choices are between the retention of privacy and her husband running for office. There is not a third way; other than an approach as taken by John Kerry's wife whereby she released sufficient extracted information from her return but not the returns themselves. Ms. McCain has to make a choice and has to make it soon.

*Or in this case 100,000,000 reasons
