McClatchy reports that US Department of Homeland Security figures tell us that "more than 1,000 people from 85 countries who are accused of such crimes as rape, killings, torture and genocide" currently reside in the US. The true number will be much, much higher once Captain Codpiece, "I'm a Big" Dick Cheney and their various and sundry minions are included in the figure.
Of course it is possible that most of the 1,000 folks are good terrorists and war criminals in which case we needn't worry at all.
