Apparently a Congressman from California by the name of Duncan Hunter is running for President (who knew?) and he has a brilliant idea to resolve the difficulties related to getting State Department staffers to "volunteer" for service at the palatial new US embassy in Baghdad. Instead of sending employees of the State Department he wants the government to sending wounded veterans instead. He thinks that the government should "go over to Bethesda and Walter Reed (hospitals) and...get these new – these soldiers and Marines who are embarking on new careers". It is unclear if Rep. Hunter is willing to wait until their wounds are healed or if he would prefer to send them over on hospital trolleys. Perhaps he thinks if they are wounded a second time that it still only counts once. Most likely he doesn't think at all. I have had to add Rep. Hunter to my list of government employees who should spend the remainder of their public careers in the Green Zone.
