...file an amicus curiae brief in this case in New York where a maid is claiming that she was enslaved and tortured by her employer. The DOJ would be expected to argue that none of the techniques practised on the maid, known only as Samirah, actually constitute torture. The only question in my mind is if they will wait until after the confirmation of Michael Mukasey as Attorney General to do so.
