Let's just get this over with

A rather mad (in both senses of the word) Christian wants to be able to launch a private prosecution against the BBC for blasphemy. Stephen Green believes that Auntie's airing of Jerry Springer - The Musical was in violation of the British law against blasphemy which dates from 1838. Let the damn fool bring the conviction so that the courts can, quite rightly, find that whatever is currently on the books contravenes the European Convention on Human Rights that is now enshrined in British law. Then we can be rid of this incredible nonsense for once and for all. If Mr. Green wishes to live in a (Christian) theocracy I suggest he consider emigration to somewhere in the American south.
