Question of the day

I have long been fascinated by the idea of the many worlds interpretation of quantum theory in which each time a quantum choice has to be made causing a probability wave to collapse unique universes are created; one for each possibility. So Schrödinger's is both dead and alive.

I can only assume that this means that there is a universe in which, after the United States became aware of Israeli's illegal and destabilising nuclear weapons in 1974 that the US exercised the right of preemption, invaded Israel and saved the world. Had this occurred perhaps the Palestinian problem would be resolved by now (and would not have to wait until later next year), Iraq would not have been invaded and Iran would not have once had a nuclear weapons programme!

Why didn't I get to live in that universe?
