Hubris, hubris and more hubris

US Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne declined to testify before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee over his long overdue decision as to whether polar bears should be given endangered species status.

Explaining that he was far too busy not deciding the status of the polar bear to trek up to Capitol Hill he suggested that he would come to testify once he had actually made a decision, probably sometime in 2037 or after every drop of crude oil is squeezed out of the bear's habitat, whichever comes later.
