The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is a creation of the Cold War but what is its purpose today? Captain Codpiece wants all European democracies (why does he hate the Vatican?) to be a part of it but it looks as if, for now at least, he won't be getting his way. The Ukraine is over 1,250 miles (2,000 KM) from the Atlantic Ocean. Why are they invited and not Mexico? In Bush's mind I think that NATO is just a source of troops from other nations to provide cover for American adventures in imperialism. Why would anyone want to join this club anyway? Certainly not the Ukrainian people but why should their opinions matter?
