In the department of “why the hell did he leave it so late” we wish to report the resignation of Bob Ney (Corruptican – Ohio) has finally decided to resign his seat. He accepted a guilty plea in the Abramoff scandal two months ago and is due to be sentenced early next year. Waiting until Friday to resign allowed him to continue to receive his Congressional salary and expenses. The seat will almost certainly now remain vacant until the new Congress is sworn in in January.
