The request of Bayer CropScience AG for federal approval of its genetically engineered rice, LLRICE601, is wending its way through the system. Remember this rice is getting approved not because it has passed tests (it hasn't) and not because it is same for consumption (who knows) but because it escaped and nothing can be done about it. Everyone feel good about this?
