Shocking news from Whitehall

It is clear that new PM Gordon Brown is eager to change the way things are done in government and nothing makes that clearer than yesterday's announcement that the number of government targets is to be slashed. According to Andy Burnham, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Brown & Co will no longer take "the crude approach of setting a one-size-fits-all target".

I know what you are waiting for. Did they set a target for target reduction? You bet they did. Mr. Burnham "suggested 110 public service agreements could be reduced to 30".

Well done all!
