It's back

As I am sure you are well aware by now Britain has suffered from a pair of abortive terror attacks in the past couple of days; first in central London and yesterday in Glasgow. Britain, and London in particular, is a country that is unfortunately accustomed to terrorism so whilst there is a slight sense of apprehension in the air there seems to have be little impact on life in the capital at least.

To me the most disturbing aspect of the attacks, neither of which could be considered successful, is that both the lack of a suicide aspect to the attacks and the relatively amateurish conduct suggests that these attacks are not the work of some vast secret global Muslim terrorist cabal but rather the work of British residents and/or citizens who have become radicalised.

We need to take a hard look at both those responsible for these acts and at ourselves as well if we are to make any progress in bringing an end to this senseless violence. The "Eternal Global War on Terra" (EGWOT), despite what the Decider(TM) thinks, is not going to be won by invasions, wars or other military action.
