Making damn sure there's no athiests in the foxholes!

Is the US military proselytising for Christianity and suppressing the views of others, especially agnostics and atheists? Would it surprise anyone if they were? The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has already launched one lawsuit over religious repression and more are expected shortly. Even the statement from the Defense Department, which was supposed to express an attitude of free expression shows a perhaps not so subtle prejudice against non-believers. A DoD spokeswoman was quoted as saying the the department "places a high value on the rights of members of the Armed Forces to observe the tenets of their respective religions." As an atheist I haven't any tenets to observe now do I?
