I am mixed emotions about genetic modification of living organisms. I believe it has great potential to help feed the world and that we are going to need to avail ourselves of that potential before the planet's population hits 9 billion. However I also believe that it requires significant testing and safety protocols and that all aspects of this require government, as opposed to self, regulation.
All of that aside I am fascinated by the news that scientists are Tokyo University have managed to create a mouse that is (stupidly) unafraid of cats.
I can bring you exclusive news and tell you that these same researchers plan the exponentially more difficult task of creating a Democratic politician with a spine. I will keep you posted.
