There are many innocent victims of America's subprime mortgage crisis and there will be many more. They deserve our concern and where possible the help of the government to keep their lives together.
I do not, however, count these people among the innocent victims. Since when is trading in a Corvette for a Suburban qualified as "economising"? What the hell must their carbon footprint be? Since they appear to have no savings, only debts, despite having had a family income probably well in excess of two hundred grand a year do you think the phrase "living beyond your means" means anything to them?
