Government rejects cod ban - chippies throughout Britain saved!

DEFRA, the UK government department responsible for fisheries and agriculture is rejecting calls for a ban on cod fishing. The North Atlantic cod is seriously threatened from decades of over fishing but to completely prohibit commercial cod fishing would lead to the destruction of the British fishing industry and, according to the government’s plans, that is not due to happen until 2048!
