Maybe they will die before they are old enough to vote

That would seem to be the plan behind the new Medicaid policy that will deny care to children born in the US, hence fully paid up American citizens, unless their citizenship can be documented.

As a refresher for those who have forgotten the 14th amendment to the US constitution defines citizenship as follows:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

It is further clarified in US Title 8, Section 1401.

Perhaps if they apply for Medicaid while they are still foetuses that would generate greater concern.
