Globalised warming

The output of carbon dioxide from shipping is now twice that of the airline industry and increasing even faster in order to satiate our desires for ever cheaper consumer goods like jeans, Ipods and Christmas crackers.

CO2 output from the goods transportation sector will increase by 75% over the next couple of decades in nothing is done and trade levels continue to increase. The good news for the shipping industry is that, due to the melting of polar ice and other glaciers, there should be not shortage of sea water for container vessels.
