"Close one, eh Tone"

After careful consideration, and possibly an after work whiskey or two, the Crown Prosecution Service, who for nearly the entire duration of the inquiry reported to St. Tony's dear friend the recently departed (from government - not life) Lord Goldsmith, has decided not to prosecute anyone in the Lolly for Lordships scandal. The CPS apparently believes that there were violations of the law but that insufficient evidence existed for a conviction. The constabulary are said to be outraged at the decision with one unnamed source saying:
"The legislation is complex. The police found evidence, I think the CPS bottled it."
I am certain that there was absolutely no political pressure brought to bear. Well, maybe not certain, but it is possible, right?
