America's Transportation Security Administration looks set to allow lighters to be carried on airplanes once again. The announcement is expected to delight travelling smokers everywhere who have had to suffer the indignity of having to rush off the nearest newsagent to buy some fire before they could have a smoke upon landing ever since Bromley's own Richard Reed tried, and failed, to blow up a shoe bomb on a transatlantic flight.
It is anticipated that shoe bombs will still be forbidden on both domestic and international flights.
