Ever since oil prices began to rise after the illegal invasion of Iraq the Internets have been choked with Americans going on and on about what they perceive to be ridiculously high petrol (gas) prices. According to the US government, and we can always believe them, you lot are currently paying around 3 USD per US gallon.
Well here in Old Blighty the AA (the Automobile Association as opposed to Alcoholics Anonymous) is predicting that we will soon face petrol prices of £1 per litre. With a US dollar currently worth less than fifty pence and 3.77 litres to a US gallon, 20% smaller than an Imperial gallon, that will put British prices at over 7.50 USD per US gallon.
So shut up - we don't want to hear it, OK?
