Oops!

The cost to redevelop Iraq's oil production infrastructure to return output to 6 million barrels a day is likely to be at least twice what was originally estimated and more probably three times with the final cost coming in at around 75 billion USD. Is anyone else waxing nostalgic for those heady early days when Iraqi oil exports would cover the tab for virtually everything and the cost of the war would be free; expect for a few inconsequential lives?
