It is always traumatic losing a job, especially one you enjoy. It is probably even more trying when the process of being sacked, I'm sorry "resigning", takes place in the public eye. But if one is lucky, and it would seem the former World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz is very lucky indeed, one gets to hang on to the job long enough to get one's bonus and the slip into a highly paid, low pressure new position straight away.
I imagine that this is the type of long term suffering that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby is likely to have to work his way through, with a little help from his friends of course.
