On this day in 1997 former professional American footballer and semi-professional thespian OJ Simpson was found civilly liable for the deaths of his ex-wife and her companion Ronald Goldman. Clearly he was not allowed to try on any gloves in this trial. Mr. Simpson is currently free on bail after being charged in conjunction with an attempted armed robbery in Las Vegas.
