From axis of evil to princes of peace in one simple quagmire

An article in yesterday's Independent explores the rehabilitation of Syria and Iraq in Bush & Blair's desperate attempt to salvage something out of the "disaster" (Blair's own word even though he denies meaning it) that is now Iraq. Time will tell of course and Syria, a secular state with a more pragmatic leader, is more likely to be able to take advantage of the proffered "get out of gaol free" card than Iran which has more complicated internal politics, being partially democratised.

I eagerly await the visit of President Ahmadinejad to Camp David for a weekend of bonding with the Bush family. Perhaps while George is barbequing halal chicken on the grill and they are sharing a six pack of alcohol free beer they will sing a rousing version of Throw the Jew Down the Well!
