A petulant Dan Gillerman, Israel's ambassador to the UN, walked out of the UN General Assembly during a session which passed a resolution critical of Israel's recent behaviour in Gaza and the West Bank. Outside the meeting chamber he held a press conference in which he branded the UN as a "farce" and a "circus". He later retracted additional remarks in which he accused the EU of stealing his dinner money and the Syrian ambassador of giving him a wedgie.
