Marine sentenced in Iraqi killing

US Marine John Jodka was sentenced yesterday to eighteen months for his part in the death of a disabled Iraqi civilian in Hamdania. He was sentenced to eighteen months by a judge whose hands were tied by what he described as "very fortuitous pre-trial agreement". Pvt. Jodka could have faced charges of kidnap and murder but pleaded guilty to lesser charges and apologised.

I eagerly await the chorus of outrage from conservative commentators at yet one more example of the molly coddling of violent criminals.
