On the buses

What do Ken Kesey and Ken Saro-Wiwa have in common? Until yesterday probably very little other than the fact that they were both writers. Now they shall be inexorably linked by associations with buses.

The tribute to the Nigerian writer and activist unveiled in London yesterday is in the form of a bus which is inscribed with the names of Saro-Wiwa and the eight other Ogoni activist that were executed with him eleven years ago. The bus will be touring the UK throughout November.

Ken Kesey's bus was, of course, magic.
