The Guardian has been privileged with a sneak preview of The Creation Museum ("Prepare to Believe"), not far from Cincinnati in the Kentucky countryside. Due to open next year it promises to tell the literal truth of the creation story as found in the bible; plus some dinosaurs morphing into dragons. The "museum" is truly based on an extreme and bizarre world view and its creators seem to have answers for everything.

On the fossilised remains of humans and human ancestors:
"There are no such things. Humans are basically as you see them today. Those skeletons they've found, what's the word? ... they could have been deformed, diseased or something. I've seen people like that running round the streets of New York."
So if you live in Manhattan (or more likely the Bronx) keep on the look out for Homo erectus, Homo habilis or more exotic specimens such as Australopithecus anamensis and Paranthropus robustus. They are most likely to be found driving a cab, hawking souvenirs or engaged in politics.
Curiously one of the men behind the museum has a PhD in Astrophysics. He says he got through university by answering questions "from my knowledge of the topic, not my beliefs". You would thing that an allegedly educated man would understand the none too subtle difference between the words "know" and "believe". I guess American education ain't what it used to be.
