Extra! Extra! Men put off shopping

When I last lived in the states it was on the edge of King of Prussia PA, home of a rather large shopping mall. Until they finished the Blue Route my route home took up US 202 right through the worst of the mall traffic. I began to notice a phenomenon at Xmastime every year. About the middle of November the traffic used to begin to worsen but the additional cars all seemed to be occupied by two or three women, sometimes with children. It would remain that way until some point before Xmas itself and the day of the "big switch" as I used to think of it used to float around anywhere from 2.5 weeks to 1 week before the holiday when the traffic would get even worse. The difference was that nearly all of the incremental traffic was made up of cars containing one and only one man.

So, to me at least, this story about how men shop later hardly qualifies as news.
