Friendly fire death - "criminal act"

A coroner in Oxfordshire has ruled that the death of British serviceman Matty Hull at the hands of American forces in Iraq was a criminal act. In the words of assistant deputy coroner Andrew Walker, who also criticised the Americans for their lack of complete lack of cooperation with the inquiry:

"The attack on the convoy amounted to an assault. It was unlawful because there was no lawful reason for it and in that respect it was criminal."

Given the Bush administration's allergic reaction to any form of accountability for their actions I would assume that no more assistance from the US will be forthcoming.
