Before you decide that George Bush's pipe dream of growing his way out of petrol dependency via bio-fuels is plausible try and remember two things.
One - bio-fuels put your Hummer's fuel tank in direct competition with someone's stomach. Remember that the market says that if you will pay more to drive down to the corner shop than someone will pay for a needed meal then you win. If that's how you see things and that's what you want go ahead.
Two - global warming means that the planet is struggling to grow sufficient cereal crops to feed the population as it is.
