One of the US Attorneys recently sacked by the Bush administration, David Iglesias of New Mexico, has spoken about pressure he received from two members of Congress, presumably Republican, to accelerate a probe into alleged corruption by local Democratic officials prior to the November election. According to Iglesias
"I didn't give them what they wanted. That was probably a political problem that caused them to go to the White House or whomever and complain that I wasn't a team player."
Do I sense the all powerful hand of Karl Rove acting behind the scenes here?
