"I'd like a stomboli please. Extra hot."

Back where I grew up, outside of Philly, a stromboli was a fattening delight available at the local pizza joints which was essentially mozzarella and Italian cold cuts (pepperoni, hard salami) wrapped up in pizza dough with sauce and baked. It is similar to, but not to be confused with, a calzone.

To the rest of the world however Stromboli is a volcanic island just off of Sicily which is currently acting up. Adjust your holiday plans accordingly.
