The Attorney General managed to get a injunction against the BBC at the weekend preventing them from going forward with a story about something related to the cash for honours scandal, probably an email which may have been leaked by Downing Street themselves, but failed in his bid to stop the Guardian from publishing a story this morning. The paper reports that the police are pursuing enquiries related to whether Lord Levy, the chief New Labour fundraiser, may have encouraged Ruth Turner, the prime minister's director of external relations, to modify her answers to police questions about a meeting between the two last year. Both Lord Levy and Ms. Turner have been arrested and bailed for attempting to pervert the course of justice during the course of the investigation.
I think we all should urge the police to bloody well get on with it. The sooner one of these two is charged the sooner big Tone will be forced out of Number 10.
