A United Nations expert, critically from South Africa, has compared the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine to the state of South Africa under apartheid. To quote John Dugard:
"anyone who experienced apartheid has a sense of deja vu when visiting the OPT (Occupied Palestinian Territories)."
Predictably Israeli's representative, Itzhak Levanon said that the report was "utterly one-sided, highly selective, and unreservedly biased". One suspects that this would have been acceptable if only the bias had been in favour of the Jewish state.
